Bearing in mind the growing concerns with the environment and sustainability, GBTX is certified in the following standards:
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.
This Standard covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labelling, trading and distribution of all textiles made from at least 70% certified organic natural fibres.
The aim of the standard is to define world-wide recognized requirements that ensure organic status of textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing up to labelling in order to provide a credible assurance to the end consumer. Textile processors and manufacturers are enabled to export their organic fabrics and garments with one certification accepted in all major markets.
The Organic Content Standard (OCS) is an international, voluntary standard that provides chain of custody verification for materials originating on a farm certified to recognized national organic standards. The standard is used to verify organically grown raw materials from the farm to the final product.
OCS focuses on mandatory requirements to cover the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, marketing and distribution of all products that contain between 5% and 100% certified organic fibers. They are selected for use in fiber, and various stages of the textile production process, including packaging and shipping.
The GRS (Global Recycle Standard) certification is intended for products that contain at least 20% recycled material, guaranteeing the status of recycled textile from the recycling phase to the last seller in the business-to-business transaction. It is a certification that guarantees an environmentally and socially responsible production up to the end customer, and is independent of the entire textile distribution chain.
This is the tool for a common international understanding of “environmentally friendly” production systems in the organic textile sector, in order to provide a credible guarantee for the final consumer.
In addition to these certifications, the company is a registered member of the BCP portal, being able to process BCI orders (BETTER COTTON INICIATIVE).
